A 61-year-old man from Swieqi was seriously injured on Friday afternoon after he was hit by falling rocks at a construction site in Msida.

The accident took place in Valley road at around 1.30pm.

According to reports the man was partially buried under the rubble and suffered serious injuries to his legs.

He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
