The Roman Catholic Church today celebrates the solemnity of the feast of Epiphany. In Gozo the arrival of the Three Kings is celebrated in a real life pageantry in village of Xaghra. "La Cavalcata dei Re Magi", held today at the Xaghra Victory Square in front of the basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady, is unique in style going back years and years ago when the "Għaqda Il-Milied fix-Xagħra" started organising this event.
The Holy Family made it's way to the parvis of the church followed by five shepherds paying homage to Baby Jesus. The Three Wise Men in oriental biblical outfits arrived on horseback accompanied by servants carrying the three biblical presents – gold, incense and myrrh. They also paid homage to Baby Jesus and presented their gifts.
The re-enactment was organised by the "Għaqda Il-Milied fix-Xagħra" with the collaboration of the Xagħra Historical Re-Enactment Organisation, Xagħra Parish, Christmas in Gozo Ministry for Gozo and the Xagħra Local Council.
