A Bulgarian national subject to a European Arrest Warrant was found and arrested in Malta, the police said in a statement.

The 30-year-old is wanted in his home country on a number of charges, including causing damage, injuring third parties and breaching the peace.

The Criminal Intelligence Unit which conducted the operation forms part of ENFAST, which is responsible for tracking and arresting wanted persons.

The man will be brought before the courts in the coming days, and investigations are ongoing.
