Shooting: Brian Galea wins the Vanguard Trap Trophy

Brian Galea won the Vanguard Trap Trophy, an event that was organised on two qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each followed by the Final Stages.

This was the third Trap competition of the season and the first held at the Southern Shooting Club this year.

Galea was joined on the podium by Frank Scorfna and by John Marmara who finished in the second and in the third place respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;

Paul Formosa with the score of 43/50, Brian Galea 42/50, Frank Scorfna 41/50, John Marmara 40/50, Anglu Ciappara 40/50 and George Mifsud 40/50.

 

The Finals results were

1st Brian Galea 21/25 + 5/5 + 1/5 + 4/5 + 7/10, total score 38/50

2nd Frank Scorfna 20/25 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 2/5 + 8/10, total score 37/50

3rd John Marmara 19/25 + 3/5 + 3/5 + 3/5, total score 28/40

4th Paul Formosa 16/25 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 24/35

5th Anglu Ciappara 13/25 + 2/5, total score 15/30

6th George Mifsud 13/25, total score 13/25

 

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualifications with the following scores;

Class A

1st Brian Galea 42/50

2nd John Marmara 40/50 (Countback Rule)

3rd George Mifsud 40/50


Class B

1st Paul Formosa 43/50

2nd Frank Scorfna 41/50

3rd Matthew Busuttil 40/50

 

Class C

1st Charlie Demanuele 37/50

2nd Paul Gatt 33/50

3rd Joe Zammit 29/50

 

The MSSF Trap Programme continues on Sunday 27 January 2019 at 10:00 with the Grazio Vella & Bros. Trophy at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.
