5th Autocross race on Sunday at Ta’ Qali

The 'Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi' (ASMK) from Sunday to Sunday is always busy and engaged to cope with the number of planned events in the ASMK calendar program. The events program is widespread throughout this season with four national championships including several special activities.

On the Sunday 10th February 2019 ASMK is to continue with the National Championship for Autocross cars. This will be the fifth event of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Championship. The program on Sunday starts at 11: 00 am and is to be held at the ASMK Sports Complex at Ta' Qali.

A look at the Championship general ranking of the Autocross Modified Class shows that Terence Azzopardi is leading the scale on his Opel Corsa with 94 points and is followed by the Opel Corsa of Melo Zammit with 81 points. Third place is currently occupied by Noel Zammit on a Fiat Punto with 78 points.

In the Autocross Class for Standard cars Melvin Buttigieg on his Citroen AX is the leader of this class with 19 points and is followed by Nicovich Chircop on a Peugeot 106 and by the Opel Nova of Johann Vella, both with 17 point each. Third place driver is Jerom Peplow on his Kia Avella with 13 points.

Meanwhile on Sunday 3rd February 2019 ASMK organized the fourth race of the 'Honda Motocross National Championship 2018/2019' where a total of 17 competitors were divided in three classes, one of which is set for riders Over 40 who compete in the Veteran Class.

On the day of Motocross racing the track was in optimum state for this kind of sport. Racing was fast and very attractive especially on the ramps section where the riders fly several meters high in the air. At the end of the event the results were as follows.

In Class A Mark Mamo on his Yamaha registered his first win of the season in this class A. Mamo was followed by Kyle Camilleri on a KTM motorcycle and by Bernard Sammut on Beta racing motocycle.

In Class B Debono Garry riding a KTM motorcycle won this class ahead of Daniel Caruana on a Honda motorcycle. Third place finisher was Krist Falzon on his Husqvarna motorcycle while fourth place finisher was Ryan Faenza on a Yamaha motorcycle.

In the Class for Veteran riders Carmelo Borg won this class on his Honda motorcycle while Paul Deguara on a KTM motorcycle crossed the Finish Line in second place. Third place was won by Jethro Sant on Yamaha motorcycle.
