NEPTUNES LEO VEGAS           9
SLIEMA FRANK SALT              13
(1-4), (3-4), (4-4), (1-1)

Sliema Frank Salt registered their second win in this competition as they deservedly beat Neptunes Leo Vegas 13-9. A great performance by Sergio Afric's men as they started the game on a high and never gave up their lead, despite a great comeback by Neptunes in the third session.

Left-hander Michael Spiteri Staines excelled for his team scoring no less than two hat-tricks. He was instrumental in the bright start that Sliema had as he scored three of the first four goals scored in the first session.

Afric's team were cruising in the game and looked to be on their way to a comfortable win after being 7-1 in front. But Neptunes resisted to throw the towel and Niki Lanzon scored twice to keep his team with a slim chance.

The four-goal difference at the end of the second session, quickly turned into one. Neptunes started the third session in a splendid manner scoring three goals while they had the opportunity to level things up.

But from the important save by Joseph Sammut, Sliema made it 9-7 through Zach Mizzi and assured themselves from the win with three consecutive goals from Zach Mizzi, Jerome Gabarretta and Michael Cordina.
