A Maltese man and his wife have died in a plane crash in the United States on Friday, US media report.
The pilot, 75-year-old Carmel 'Charles’ Azzopardi, and the passenger, 49-year-old Paula Azzopardi, both of Amarillo, died as a result of the crash in Roberts County, Texas, on Friday morning.
The single-engine aircraft went down just west of the Hemphill County line.
Azzopardi migrated to the US when he was young and his three children live in Malta.
Azzopardi was a regular visitor to Malta and was last here in November.
The Foreign Ministry said they were in contact with the US authorities about the incident.
