Floriana's 203cm forward Ian Theisen is the BOV Basketball Men's 1st Division Player of the Month for January 2019. The American from Osseo Minnesota scored no less that 123 points with 92% from the free throw line, 71% from the field and 56% from the free throw line scoring 9 from 16 attempts.
Hibernians Amelia Simmons won this award for the 8th time in her 5 season playing in Malta. Her 78 points during this period include a 78% success from the free-throw line and 27 from 53 in 2 point shots.
Gzira Athleta's Matthew Gouder won the award for BOV Amateur League. Matthew is the league leader in rebounds with 13.10 per game complemented with 2.4 assists and 2.2 steals per game. His 78 points during the month include 73% from the free throw line and 31 from 48 from the field.
Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented a commemorative plaque to the players for winning the award.
