27 migrants were found living in a farm near the Marsa-Hamrun bypass following an inspection by the police on Sunday morning.

40 migrants were reported to have been living inside the farm.

One News reported that from initial assessments it seemed that the persons found either did not have residence permits or that the permits were expired. The news portal said that it is not excluded that the migrants are deported.

The migrants have been taken to the Police's headquarters in Floriana for further questioning.

Last August, 120 migrants were found living in poor conditions on a farm on the limits of Qormi.  They paid around €100 per month to live in the make shift accommodation on what was a cow farm. The complex was cordoned off by the Planning Authority and the 120 migrants were allowed to leave and seek alternative accommodation.
