So much was said and written about the replenishing of Balluta Bay last summer.
But it seems that the winter seas, and particularly the storm that ravaged the country two weekends ago, have not been kind.
The sandy beach has disappeared, with the sand that formed the beach being carried out to sea again. The photo above was taken this morning, while the one below shows the sandy bay after the replishment works last year.
Whether a similar replenishing exercise will take place again this summer remains to be seen, but it is clear that unless something more drastic takes place, nature will always beat man… at least in Balluta Bay.
