A man proclaimed to be “God on earth” as he interrupted a Mass that was being recorded to be shown on Italian TV.

The recording was interrupted until police were called in to take the man away, tgcom24.mediaset reports.

The incident took place in the Roman basilica dedicate to Sant’Andrea delle Fratte on Sunday.

The man, who was visibly agitated, walked towards the altar and grabbed a microphone to make his declaration.
