Thirteen migrants absconded from the Initial Reception Centre in Marsa last night, where as per policy they were being assessed for checks and medical clearance, a government statement read.

"Another two migrants ran away from the Office of the Refugee Commissioner when they were taken to apply for protection."

"The police were informed immediately, and a police report was filed on site. Today, five of the migrants returned to the Initial Reception Centre," the statement read.
