Three men have been arrested in a drug operation that spanned over a number of days, the police said on Thursday evening.

On 10 March, the St Julian’s police station was informed that a 32-year-old Albanian man had been grievously injured after having been involved in an argument with a number of persons.

After investigating the case, the police arrested two Serbian men, aged 39 and 31, on Wednesday. The men were found to be carrying substances suspected to be cocaine and cannabis, as well as a pair of knuckledusters.

A search was mounted inside their Msida residence on Thursday, with the police finding more suspected cannabis and cocaine.

Later on, the police arrested a Macedonian 42-year-old man who was seen heading towards the same residence. He was found in possession of suspected cannabis grass and resin, cocaine and MDMA.

Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli was informed about the case and has launched a magisterial inquiry.

The police are investigating the case and the men are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
