On Sunday 14 April 2019 Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) will be making another attempt to continue with its activities by organizing the Autocross eighth event of the 2018/2019 National Championship ASMK Pasta Poiatti. This event was cancelled last Sunday due to the bad morning weather which hit and affected the whole country. Next Sunday's event on Sunday 14 is scheduled to start at 10: 00am but the day's program reaches its peak at 3: 00pm when ASMK gives the Start signal of the edition of the 'Mini Car Demolition Derby' in 2019.
For this edition of Demolition ASMK registered 53 cars which are no longer than 13 feet but 50 cars passed the Saturday scrutineering which is carried out before any such activity like this. This event is called the Demolition of Small Cars for a fact that the maximum car length to be used determines the car model which one can use in this event. As usual the Association gives the spectators some time to enjoy the decorated cars being exhibited by making two exhibition laps around the oval track before starting their last trip to the scrapyard where they will be recycled for scrap metal and other materials.
Meanwhile, a brief look at the Autocross Championship Rankings. In Autocross National Championship for Modified cars we see Melo Zammit on his Opel Corsa is placed at the top end of the list with 150 points. Zammit is followed by Terence Azzopardi on another Opel Corsa with 145 points. In third place we find Noel Zammit on a Fiat Punto and with 140 points.
The Standard class of the National Autocross Championship is presently occupied by the youngest driver in this Class. Kyle Agius on his Opel Nova is leading this class following his last two wins. Agius currently has 32 points followed by the Peugeot 106 of Nicovich Chircop with 24 points while third placed is Johann Vella on his Opel Nova with 23 points.
