Another positive performance gave San Ġiljan TUM Invest the fifth win from five games as they enter the play-offs in first place and favourites to win the title for a fourth consecutive year.

It was a hard fought win as Valletta were no pushovers, but the quality of players like Dino Zammit proved to be too much for Valletta. The Citizens confirmed their progress but they still have to defend in a more consistent way.

The goal by Daniel Paolella in the last minute of the first session stopped San Ġiljan from having an easy ride as they were already 4-1 in front. Dino Zammit made it 5-2 in the middle of the second session but goals by James Spiteri Staines and Andrea Bianchi gave a different picture to the game.

San Ġiljan made sure to avoid any surprises as they opened up a four-goal lead after the restart, but Miguel Zammit scored twice in a minute to keep his team in the game. That was until Ben Plumpton put his team 9-6 in the lead.

Charlie Zammit reduced the margin in Valletta's first action of the last session, but Dino Zammit responded with a brace that killed the game. Valletta tried to stay in the game but in both occasions that they scored, San Ġiljan had a response to keep a comfortable cushion till the end.
