Moviment Patrijotti Maltin leader Henry Battistino has resigned the post after what he termed as an electoral defeat in the European Parliament elections.

The MPM obtained 771 votes (0.3 %) of the valid votes cast.

It fielded two candidates, Simon Borg (577 votes) and Naged Megally (194 votes).

In a Facebook post, Battistino said that “the party I love so much” was defeated and he was shouldering responsibility by resigning with immediate effect.
