Maltese academic at WHO sessions reflecting on Global Pharmacy Workforce Needs

Professor Lilian M. Azzopardi from the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta and president of the European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy was invited to join the International Pharmaceutical Federation delegation at the WHO World Health Assembly held last week in Geneva. 

Professor Azzopardi was a facilitator during the session dedicated to Actions needed to address the 18 million health workers shortage by 2023. 

Leadership to support transformative high quality pharmacy education to match people health needs was discussed by Professor Azzopardi during the signing of a memorandum of understanding between FIP and Dr Tedros Adhanom, director general on behalf of WHO.
