The Malta pavilion will be divided into two floors, with the exhibition and presentation area on the ground floor and meeting rooms on the first floor.  “We are intending to use these meeting rooms on as part of our programme of activities throughout the six month of Expo by hosting seminars, talks and workshops and are aiming to organising a number of meetings between the business delegations from various countries, also in collaboration with the other country pavilions,” Antoinette Catania, Deputy Commissioner General of Malta at Expo 2020 Dubai and the Project Leader through Malta Enterprise, told The Malta Independent.

The Malta theme, ‘Connecting Cultures, Generating Opportunities’, will capture a mix of elements including cultural diversity, the interculturalism entrenched in Malta’s history, our positive attitude, a thriving economy, a young innovative generation and employment opportunities. “Once the Pavilion design has been selected, we will then continue developing our story through an attractive message and other components that will embrace these elements.  This Expo is an opportunity where businesses and entities can collaborate together with the Malta Pavilion”, she added.

The World Expo is a unique multi-cultural gathering that fuses together various elements and where visitors will have the opportunity to discover more about the participating countries – be it through leisure, entertainment, educational programmes and/or business activities.

It will run for six months, between 20 October 2020 and 21 April 2021 and is expected to attract some 25 million visitors.  Malta’s National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai will be on 19 January 2021.

Malta’s participation at Expo 2020 is being coordinated by Malta Enterprise under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Small Businesses.
