Shooting: Brian Galea wins the 5th Trap Selection Shoot

Brian Galea was the overall winner of the fifth and the last Trap Selection Shoot of the season. This event was organised on five qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each with seventy five targets being shot at on Saturday and the last fifty targets plus Finals on Sunday.

Galea was joined on the podium by William Chetcuti and by Christopher Farrugia who finished in the second and in the third place respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;

William Chetcuti with the score of 113/125+2 (ISSF MQS), Rennie Deguara 113/125+1 (ISSF MQS), Brian Galea 109/125+4, Christopher Farrugia 109/125+3, Nicholas Carabott 108/125+3 and John Marmara 108/125+2.

 

The Finals results were;

1st Brian Galea 20/25 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 7/10, total score 40/50

2nd William Chetcuti 18/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 8/10, total score 39/50

3rd Christopher Farrugia 19/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 30/40

4th Rennie Deguara 17/25 + 4/5 + 5/5, total score 26/35

5th Nicholas Carabott 18/25 + 2/5, total score 20/30

6th John Marmara 16/25, total score 16/25

Two perfect straights of 25/25 hit targets were registered by Rennie Deguara and by Christopher Farrugia.

The top three Shooters in their respective classes managed Sunday's results as follows;

Class A

1st Brian Galea 47/50

2nd William Chetcuti 44/50 (Countback Rule)

3rd John Marmara 44/50

 

Class B

1st Christopher Farrugia 42/50

2nd Nico Sciberras 41/50

3rd Nazzareno Attard 39/50

 

Class C

1st Carmel Grech 41/50

2nd Daniel Camilleri 38/50

3rd Brian Zammit 36/50

 

The MSSF Trap Programme continues on Sunday 28 July at the Southern Shooting Club with the C.A.R.S. Trophy.
