Shooting: Marcello Attard wins the 5th Skeet Selection Shoot

Marcello Attard won the fifth and last Skeet Selection Shoot for the year 2019. This gave Attard automatic qualification for the European Championship which will be held at the Trap Concaverde Shooting Ranges in Lonato del Garda, Italy from 03 September to 17 September 2019.

This weekend's event was held at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges and it was organised on five qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each with seventy five targets being shot at on Saturday and the last fifty targets plus Finals on Sunday.

Marcello Attard was joined on the podium by Liam Sciberras and by Clive Farrugia who finished in the second and in the third place respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;

Clive Farrugia hit 118/125 targets, Marcello Attard scored 117/125, Bozhidar Vasilev Dimitrov 116/125, Liam Sciberras scored 113/125, David Gatt managed 112/125 and Belinio Attard 111/125.

 

The result of the Finals Stages from a single shot was;

1st Marcello Attard 54/60

2nd Liam Sciberras 53/60

3rd Clive Farrugia 43/50

4th David Gatt 33/40

5th Bozhidar Vasilev Dimitrov 25/30

6th Belinio Attard 15/20

The classes' results of Sunday's competition were;

Class A

1st Marcello Attard 48/50 (Countback Rule)

2nd Clive Farrugia 48/50 (Countback Rule)

3rd Bozhidar Vasilev Dimitrov 48/50

Class B

1st Ian Grima 46/50 (Countback Rule)

2nd David Gatt 46/50

3rd Liam Sciberras 44/50

The Malta Shooting Sport Federation Skeet programme continues on Sunday 04 August with the MSG Car Hire Mini Grand Prix.
