Pack of dogs attacking cat colony in Bahar ic-Caghaq

Tuesday, 12 November 2019, 08:34 Last update: about 5 years ago

A pack of dogs has been attacking the cat colony in Bahar ic-Caghaq for the past two weeks, with the Animal Welfare Department so far being unable to catch them.

Only last night, one of the cats was attacked by the five digs and needed to be taken to the vet for treatment.

Residents say they are afraid to approach the dogs, which seem to prefer to launch their attacks during the night, as they search for scraps of food.

They are unsure whether the dogs are stray, but so far an appeal launched on the Facebook page of the Bahar i-Caghaq community for the owners of the dogs to come forward has not been met and the dogs continue to roam freely in the area.

Officers of the Animal Welfare Department have been to Bahar ic-Caghaq in the past days but they have been unable to catch the dogs.
