Martin Balzan confirmed as MAM president for three years

Dr Martin Balzan, consultant respiratory physician, and Dr John Paul Tabone, general practitioner with an interest in palliative medicine, have been confirmed as president and General secretary of the Medical Association of Malta respectively for the next three years.

Dr Clifford Caruana, consultant upper gastro-intestinal surgeon, has been elected vice-president. 

Balzan has been active in the MAM since 1997and in a leadership position for the last 18 years since 2001.

Balzan stated that he is very happy to continue working for the medical profession, however expressed his satisfaction that a young and energetic council has been elected.
