A woman was seriously injured on Thursday morning in a crash involving three cars, the police said.

The accident took place in Triq id-Dahla ta’ San Tumas, Marsascala, at 7.30am.

It involved a Citroen C4 Cactus driven by a 44-year-old man of Zurrieq and a Toyota Hiace driven by a 41-year-old man of Zejtun. Following the impact, a third car was hit, a Fiat 500 driven by a 26-year-old woman who resides in Marsascala.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
