Prime Minister Robert Abela has instructed Heritage Malta to build a monument dedicated to author Oliver Friggieri, who died on Saturday.

Professor Friggieri was laid to rest today in a funeral organised by the state.

PM Abela said that Heritage Malta will next week issue a call for proposals for artists to take part in this initiative.

“His name will be remembered and such a monument will give him the thanks he deserves,” Abela said. He thanked Professor Friggieri for his contribution in the field of Maltese literature and language.
