Updated: One grievously injured, three slightly injured in Dingli head-on crash

Four people were injured in a head-on crash in Dingli on Monday afternoon.

The head-on crash was between a Ford Transit van and a Volkswagen Polo in Triq ir-Rabat in Dingli, and happened at around 12:30pm.

The van was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Gzira, while the car was being driven by a 48-year-old woman and had two passengers - a 25-year-old woman from Dingli and a 1-year-old baby.  

Police, ambulances and members of the CPD were present on site, after a woman was caught in one of the vehicles. The woman was eventually extracted from the car some 40 minutes after the accident took place, and was taken to hospital.

The 48-year-old suffered grievous injuries while the other three were slightly injured.

Investigations are ongoing.
