Former PN leader Adrian Delia has filed a libel suit against Lovin Malta over a story which read that Delia had been in contact with alleged murder mastermind Yorgen Fenech during a parliamentary debate on 17 Black.

Delia said that the allegations published by the media house were false, and called on the courts to hold the site responsible for what it had published.

In his application, Delia categorically denied that he had “messaged Yorgen Fenech during a parliamentary debate on 17 Black, Fenech’s Dubai-based company linked to government corruption” and said that other declarations in the article give an incorrect impression and aim to depreciate his reputation, integrity, and honour.

In their story, Lovin Malta claimed that Fenech had texted a well-known businesswoman, boasting of his links to Malta’s politicians and claiming that Delia was among a number of people “who messaged him to raise concerns over MP Rosianne Cutajar’s “overly emotional” intervention during the parliamentary debate.”

Delia denied the story on Tuesday and demanded that it was withdrawn immediately.  With the story still online by Wednesday, Delia chose to file a libel suit against the media house.

Lovin Malta has said that it will be providing all evidence to substantiate their story.
