Summer is set to start with a bang as temperatures are set to rise steadily in the coming days to reach their peak at the weekend.

The first day of summer, Tuesday, will start with 31 degrees Celsius but will go up to 33 degrees on Wednesday and 35 on Thursday.

It will then reach 36 degrees for the three days between Friday and Sunday, the Meteorological Office is forecasting.

The feel like temperature will be higher on all days, reaching 38 on Sunday.

Nights will not be much cooler, with the temperature remaining as high as 27.
