A motorcyclist suffered grievous injuries after he was involved in a traffic accident in Zejtun on Wednesday morning.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at 11am on the corner of Triq Alfredo Cachia Zammit and Triq l-Isqof Antonio Zahra in Zejtun.

Preliminary investigations showed that a crash occurred between an Aprilia Sport City which was being ridden by a 57-year-old man from Birzebbuga, and a Toyota Passo which was being driven by a 66-year-old man from Zejtun.

A medical team was called to the scene and the motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that its investigations are ongoing.
