A man was seriously hurt while two others were injured in a traffic accident in Xewkija early this morning, the police said.

The accident took place in Mgarr Road at 12.45am.

It involved a Toyota Starlet, driven by a 19-year-old man of Xewkija, and a Suzuki Swift, driven by a 23-year-old man of Xaghra. An 18-year-old man was riding as a passenger in the Totoya.

As a result of the impact, the Suzuki ended up hitting a wall.

The police said that the 23-year-old was seriously hurt, while the 19-year-old was slightly injured. The condition of the other person is unknown.

They were all taken to Gozo Hospital.
