A man was grievously injured on Saturday after he was hit by a bottle in Sannat on Saturday evening, the police said.

The injured man was admitted to Gozo General Hospital at around 6.30pm.

The victim, a 36-year-old Somali who resides in Żebbuġ, Gozo, had been involved in an argument during which he was hit by a broken bottle.

The police arrested a 28-year-old Ethiopian man at the residence, in Triq it-Tin, where the argument took place.

Investigations are continuing.
