Nobody was injured after three balconies collapsed into the street in Gharb in Gozo as Storm Helios continues to batter the island.

Six cars which were parked beneath the balconies suffered severe damage due to the falling debris.

The street in question is the one which leads to the Gharb village square.

National broadcaster TVM reported that eyewitnesses on site said that the collapse happened at around 2:15pm and that members of the Civil Protection Department were on hand to clear the debris soon after.

Luckily, nobody was injured as a result of the incident.

Malta is currently being battered by Storm Helios, with reports that over 100mm of rain has already fallen and that the worst is still yet to come.

An Orange Warning has been issued by the Meteorological Office, and people have been encouraged to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.
