The victim of the Mdina traffic accident over the weekend has been named as Anthony Twanny Marmara.

Tributes have been puring in on the social media for the 54-year-old man, who was hit by a car in what is known by many as the Saqqajja Hill, off Mdina.

His unfortunate death has caused widespread despair, especially among those who knew him from his home town, Tarxien. 

Anthony died early Sunday after being hit by a Peugeot 208 which was being driven by a 20-year-old man residing in Qrendi.

The accident occurred in Valletta Road, Mdina.
