Updated: Five people, including three children, taken to hospital after Zejtun crash

Five people have been taken to hospital due to a crash involving three cars in Zejtun that occurred at 5pm on Tuesday, the police said.

The accident occurred on Vjal il-25 ta' Novembru at 4pm. Two vehicles crashed - a Peugeot 308 and a Chevrolet Matiz - and as a consequence of the crash, a third car - a Mini - was hit, police said.

The Peugeot was being driven by a 38-year-old woman of Fgura, who had two girls, both aged nine, riding as passengers. The Chevrolet was being driven by a 44-year-old woman, resident of Fgura, who had a seven-year-old boy with her.

The police said that the three persons in the Peugeot were slightly hurt while the two in the Chevrolet were grievously injured.

The driver of the Mini, a 58-year-old woman, was not injured.
