Man injured after beach buggy accident in Gozo

A man was injured after a beach buggy he was in ended up on its roof in a traffic accident in Gozo, police said.

Police said in a statement that the accident happened at around 10:15am in Triq Dahlet Qorrot in Nadur, Gozo.

Two people – a 35-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from Birkirkara – were in the Sheng Wo FX400 beach buggy at the time of the accident.

Police said that preliminary investigations showed that the man, who was driving, lost control of the buggy, resulting in it ending up on its roof.

Both were taken to Gozo General Hospital and the man was certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the woman emerged from the accident unharmed.

Duty magistrate Brigitte Sultana is leading an inquiry, while the police are also investigating.
