4,900 individuals had an income of more than €100,000 in 2021

A total of 4,900 individuals had declared an income of more than €100,000 for the year 2021, Finance Minister Clyde Caruana said on Wednesday.

In answering a parliamentary question by PN Spokesperson for Finance Jerome Caruana Cilia, the minister tabled the information in Parliament. The highest number of individuals with such an income were from Siema (526). Swieqi came in second with 354 individuals and Naxxar came in third with 330 individuals.

Caruana cilia also asked for information regarding the profit made by businesses for the year of 2021.

The minister indicated that a total of 1,139 businesses had a profitable income of more than €100,000, 308 businesses had a profitable income of more than €500,000 , whilst 546 businesses had a profitable income of more than €1 million.
