A book about the man who was the driving force behind the inception of the Games of the Small States of Europe has been launched as Malta prepares to host the event in the coming days.

“Bertie Muscat, my memoirs” is a historical account of decades of recollections and anecdotes from his years of experience as an athlete and administrator.

Muscat was for many years president of the Aquatic Sports Association and also served on the Maltese Olympic Committee. He won the Official of the Year twice.

The book, edited by Maria Ciappara, was published through the support of Olympic Solidarity.

Copies of the book can be acquired from the Maltese Olympic Committee.

The Games will be held between 29 May and 3 June.
