A 60-year-old man died in a traffic accident at 12.30am on Sunday morning, the police said.

The accident occurred on Triq Ġorġ Borg Olivier in Rabat. The man, who was also from Rabat, was driving a Skoda Rapid and was involved in a collision with a Fiat Punto and Peugeot 206 that were parked. A man who lives close by tried to give first aid while a medical team also went on site, however the man was certified as having lost his life soon after.

Magistrate Gianella Busuttil opened a magisterial inquiry and investigations are ongoing.
