A high tide flooded low-lying areas close to the sea like Marsascala and Xemxija early on Saturday.

A car ended up in the sea as the phenomenon known as the Milghuba hit the islands.

Police said that they had received reports that cars were in danger of being dragged by the tide.

No reports of injuries were filed.
