A motorbike rider was grievously injured in a crash in Gudja, the police said on Monday.

The accident occurred at 9am on Triq Dawret il-Gudja. Preliminary investigations found that a crash took place between a Yamaha T110 motorbike, ridden by a 32-year-old man from Zabbar, and a Suzuki Swift, driven by a 22-year-old man from Gharghur.

A medical team was dispatched and went on site. The motorbike rider was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for the necessary care, and was certified as having been grievously injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.
