Take advantage of EU funding opportunities that can cover your project's costs!

The Creative Europe Programme offers European funding to assist artists and organizations in the media and cultural domain who are keen on developing unique projects.

The objectives of the programmes are to safeguard, develop and promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, increase competitiveness and the economic potential of the cultural and creative sectors, while promoting competitiveness, scalability cooperation, mobility, innovation and sustainability in the audio-visual sector.

Each programme strongly encourages inclusion, equality, diversity, participation of people belonging to minorities and socially marginalised groups, including audience development and gender equality.

The most recent programme, spanning from 2021 to 2027, marked a substantial rise compared to its predecessor. Notably, the budget designated for the ongoing programme stands at 2.44 billion euros.

Annually, numerous calls are released, prompting artists from across Europe to submit their project ideas with the aspiration of securing funding from these resources. What adds an element of excitement to this endeavour, is the chance to exchange and explore experiences alongside fellow artists. Certain calls are focused around the individual, such as the Culture Moves Europe call or the Music Moves Europe call, where artists journey to different nations to establish their projects and garner support from diverse communities.

Undoubtedly, one of the highly favoured calls among the Maltese artists within the Culture Strand are the European Cooperation Projects and the Circulation of European Literary works. Other calls include: the Culture Moves Europe and Music Moves Europe.

With regards to the Media strand, the most feasible calls for the locals are the TV and Online content, and the European Mini-slate development. Other calls include: Journalism Partnerships, Films on the Move and Video Games and Immersive Content Development.

Interested applicants requesting further information on how to apply for calls, are encouraged to contact the Creative Europe Desk by either calling on 20908990/1 or by visiting:  www.creativeeuropemalta.mt or the Creative Europe Desk Malta Facebook Page.
