A 70-year-old man died after he found himself in difficulty while swimming in a private pool, the police said.

The accident took place on Monday at 7pm in a residence in Main Road, Zurrieq, the police said Tuesday.

The man, from England, was found dead in the pool.

Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit is leading an inquiry.
