The latest exhibition by Xaxa Calleja is entitled Through My Window and is her seventh solo exhibition. This collection of paintings is a window into Xaxa's little world. They are a reflection of her emotions and are represented in both abstract and representational work. 

Each person looks at the world through their own eyes and has their own perception of reality.  The artist's eyes are their lens and are what enable them to paint. Xaxa wants to give us a glimpse into what she sees. We will never fully understand how another person interprets reality but through her paintings she is offering a visual bridge into her interpretation of the world. Each colour has its own vibration and it is through light and shadow that we perceive reality. This is what she is exploring in this group of works.

In this collection Xaxa is also presenting works that are inspired by landscapes that she has witnessed and have left a lasting impression. She is trying to capture her own visions of the world both in what she sees and how she feels.

Her abstract works are also a representation of her inner thoughts and also a reflection of images that she has absorbed and events that she has processed. "We are a sponge to whatever we hear and witness and this will affect whatever we decide to produce. Whether a painting or a piece of music, they are all a reflection of our inner reality, she says.
