Five persons were taken to hospital after being injured during a fight in Zejtun on Saturday, the police said.

The incident took place in Triq Giebha Rumana at 4pm.

The police said that the fight involved an 18-year-old man of Zejtun, a 48-year-old man of Cospicua and a 54-year-old man of Zejtun, against a man and woman, both aged 24 and resident in Zejtun.

During the fight, a brick was thrown through the window of one of the cars, while two cars that were being driven by two of the men – and Opel Astra and a Mercedes Benz E250 – were involved in a crash.

The 54-year-old man was also hit by the Mercedes, the police said. He was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.

The condition of the other four people is unknown.
