A biker died of injuries sustained following a traffic accident in Lija on Monday evening, the police said.

The accident took place in Naxxar Road, Lija, at 7.40pm.

The biker, a 28-year-old man of Birzebbuga, was riding a Piaggio which was involved in a crash with a Mazda Demio, driven by a 24-year-old man of Iklin and a Volvo XC40 driven by a 36-year-old man of Zebbug.

The victim was identified as father of two Kurdt Busuttil.

He was taken to hospital where he died some time later, the police said.

Magistrate Rachel Montebello is leading an inquiry.
