A man suffered life threatening injuries when the quad bike he was driving overturned in a traffic accident in Gozo.

Police said that the accident happened in Triq il-Kav. Lorenzo Zammit Haber in Xewkija, Gozo at around 2pm on Monday.

Preliminary investigations showed that the 25-year-old man lost control of the Polaris Trail Blazer quad bike he was riding, resulting in it overturning.

The victim was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Duty magistrate Simone Grech is leading an inquiry while police said that their investigations are also ongoing.
