Minister for Social and Affordable Housing Roderick Galdes inaugurated a new social accommodation project named after the former Prime Minister of Malta, Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici in Zurrieq.

Galdes said that this €3.5 million project will give the opportunity to 27 families to start a new decent and dignified life. He said that this project in Żurrieq, which includes 20 garages, is part of the ongoing investment in social accommodation.

The Minister highlighted that the government's goal, together with the Housing Authority, is not only to build new buildings for social housing but also to provide those who really need it with the push to live a quality life.

"This is what we mean when, as a government, we talk about social justice," he said.

The families entering this social accommodation have passed the application and verification process, according to the allocation strategy that was implemented in 2021, the government said.
