A €1.5 million social housing project in Qrendi for 11 families has been inaugurated, the government said.

This project, which also includes 7 garages, will be named after Joe Bartolo, an activist who worked in the housing sector.

Social Housing Minister Roderick Galdes said that four social housing projects in 2023 meant that 64 families who couldn't access the property market began building their future under a decent roof. The minister said that in the first half of 2024, more projects will open to welcome more families.

The families who will be entering this social housing passed through the application and verification process, the government said.
