A woman was grievously injured on Monday morning when she was hit by a car in Luqa, the police said.

The accident took place in St Andrew’s Road, Luqa, at 10.15am.

The woman, aged 52 of Hamrun, was hit by a Citroen C1 driven by an Indian 36-year-old man who resides in St Paul’s Bay.

She was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
