Two men were taken to Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday morning after being involved in a head-on collision in Triq l-Infetti in Mdina.

The accident happened at around 6:50am and involved a Toyota Vitz, driven by a 22-year-old man from Birzebbuga, and a Hyundai i20 driven by a 38-year-old man from Dingli.

Members of the Civil Protection Department, an ambulance and the police went on site. CPD officials helped extract one of the drivers out of the vehicle.

The condition of the two drivers is not yet known.

Police said that the road is closed for traffic and have started investigations.
