Clint Azzopardi Flores on Friday launched his campaign for the European Parliament elections, a campaign that he said will be primarily based on four foundations; Economy, Social, Better Quality of Life and Security, and Diplomacy.

The Labour Party candidate stressed that as a leftist, he believes that the main prerogative of every politician should be to serve and serve the people in order to give help to every individual and give him the necessary opportunities to succeed, without leaving anyone out; principles that guide him and that he keeps in his heart as Maltese and European.

Azzopardi Flores went on to say that despite the challenges endured by the Maltese and Gozitan people, the PL government was still there for the people and this sends a strong message, that his campaign is aligned with that of the PL, a campaign by the people for the people. He said that his campaign is designed on direct contact with people and that is why he has been meeting people in their homes for the last year.

Azzopardi Flores added that politicians like Karl Chircop, Silvio Parnis, Lorry Sant and Censu Moran believed in their socialist ideals and contributed to lifting many people out of poverty because they had a vision.

With a childhood of a humble and simple social background, he also recalled Dominku Mintoff who gave great opportunities especially in education as did all the leaders who came after him, including Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici and Alfred Sant.

The candidate for the European Parliament elections said that the concept of neutrality for us is much more relevant today because of what is going on around us. He explained that his vision is to create more dialogue that leads to peace and where economic progress is one that protects the worker and pushes him forward and improves the services created and built by our predecessors including the welfare state, health and free education and pensions.

In the speech, he also mentioned the importance of young people to be home owners and bring them more strong investments to Malta with more attractive and solid opportunities such as manufacturing investments that will eventually need to shift themselves from other continents to Europe and that he wants to make sure that part of them, will come to our country.
